Close to half of all people with hypertension, hypercholesterolemia and diabetes are unaware of their disease and miss out on the potential benefits of early detection and treatment that could significantly delay, reduce or eliminate their risk of complications, disabilities and death from heart diseases, stroke, diabetes and cancers. For employers, the opportunity to control or reduce costs associated with health-related productivity loss is lost in the absence of implementation of a screening program.
